Steps to Inject your medication

    • Gather your medication, an alcohol swab, a cotton ball or gauze, and a sharps disposal container.

    • Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water and dry them with a clean towel.

    • Common injection sites include the abdomen, thigh, or upper arm. Rotate injection sites to avoid irritation.

    • Use an alcohol swab to clean the chosen injection site. Let it air dry.

    • Draw the correct dose into the syringe.

    • Gently pinch the skin at the injection site to create a small fold.

    • Hold syringe like a pencil and insert the needle into the pinched skin at a 90-degree angle.

    • Push the plunger on the syringe to inject the medication slowly and steadily.

    • Remove the needle from the skin and release the pinched skin fold.

    • Place the used needle into a sharps disposal container immediately.

    • Use a cotton ball or gauze to apply gentle pressure to the injection site. Do not rub.

    • Wash your hands again with soap and water.
